The Museum Library is closed from 12/21/24 to 1/20/25 due to facilities projects. Patrons will not be able to request materials or scans from the Museum Library's print collections, retrieve materials from the stacks, or pick up or return books during this time. See our Service Alerts for more information.

The Patricia and Bernard Goldstein Director of Information Processing supervises a staff of more than 50 people. Working with scores of high-end computers, these library professionals acquire, process, and catalog all of the material that replenishes the Libraries' store of knowledge: journals, books, newspapers, video recordings, microforms, and electronic resources.

As the Libraries continue to adapt to the changing needs of our users, we must acquire and process new types of materials for our collections. We are grateful for Patricia and Bernard Goldstein's support of the Information Processing Center and the Goldstein Electronic Classroom. They and their son Mark, C'83 also supported enormous improvements to undergraduate use of the Libraries. The Mark H. and Bernard Goldstein Undergraduate Study Center on the ground floor of the Van Pelt-Dietrich Library Center was enhanced in 2003 with the addition of Mark's Cafe.

"The University has long had 'open arms' for ideas, talented people, and technology. When I was an undergraduate, one of the first digital computers resided in the basement of the Moore School. Little did our generation know the role it would play, during a single lifetime, in the vast redeployment of capital and information throughout the world. My wife, Patricia, and I are pleased to play a small part in making all of this more accessible to today's students and tomorrow's." —Bernard Goldstein, W'53
