The University of Pennsylvania Libraries is led by the H. Carton Rogers III Vice Provost and Director of Libraries. This endowed position was made possible through a $3 million gift from the Penn Libraries’ Board of Advisors and the Orrery Society Council. The endowment bears the name of H. Carton Rogers III, whose 43-year career with the Penn Libraries concluded with his retirement in June 2018.

Former University Provost Wendell Pritchett stated, “This tremendous gift is a fitting recognition of his profound impact, which will be felt for generations to come." The Libraries is grateful to our volunteer leaders for their generosity in helping to honor one of our greatest university citizens.
