Meet Lydian Brambila - Holman’s New Medical Education Librarian

Lydian

Holman Biotech Commons recently welcomed Lydian Brambila (they/them) as its new Medical Education Librarian. In their new role, Lydian will be responsible for strengthening communication and collaboration across the University of Pennsylvania’s schools and programs. They look forward to supporting students, faculty, and staff from a wide range of disciplines, ensuring that they are making full use of library resources including the variety of study spaces.

Possessing a strong background in academic librarianship, Lydian previously worked at the University of Georgia, where they served as a Research Librarian and Library Services Manager. They were also the Community Coordinator for Peer 2 Peer University, a grassroots network that supports educational initiatives around the world.

Lydian earned their Bachelor of Arts from the University of Georgia, where they double majored in Anthropology and Comparative Literature. They received their Master of Library and Information Science (MLIS) from Valdosta State University.

Outside of work, Lydian enjoys playing the cello, spending time with their dogs, and creating self-published booklets (zines). Their favorite book genres are historical and science fiction including Gene Wolfe’ The Book of the New Sun and Daniel M. Lavery’s Women’s Hotel.

If you are interested in speaking with Lydian, you can contact them at lybram@upenn.edu.
