Print Reserves

Print Course Reserves are print materials set aside by professors for use in specific courses. When a popular textbook or course material is placed on Reserve, it allows more students to be able to access the resource when needed.

Math/Physics/Astronomy Library Course Reserves Quick Tips

Students

  • Ask library staff at the MPA Circulation Desk for print Course Reserves
  • Print Reserve items may be checked out with a PennCard for 3 hours
  • Print Reserve items must stay in the library during use. They can’t be taken out of the library.
  • Some textbooks on Reserve may have e-books available through Penn Libraries. However, not all textbooks have e-books. Search the Penn Libraries catalog to check.

Faculty and Teaching Staff

  • Contact MPA library staff at mpalib@pobox.upenn.edu for assistance in placing print and electronic materials on Course Reserve, creating a Course Materials reading list for Canvas, or requesting an item be purchased for Reserve materials. We are happy to help!
