Before coming to Penn, Holly spent two years as a National Libraries of Medicine ( NLM ) Associate Fellow. During the initial period of the Fellowship, Holly participated in several intensive projects relating to the NLM's indexing policies and workflows, and the availability, usability and best practices for indexing translations of non-English language journal content. Holly spent the second year of the Fellowship at the Yale University Cushing/Whitney Medical Library, where she worked on several special projects, further deepening her knowledge of analyzing and creating solutions for complex workflows. She worked on the development of a best practices model and whitepaper for Yale's e-book acquisitions and management processes, managed the workflow for the WHO's Hinari program, and coordinated an inter-departmental working group to create a database for the previously hidden special collection of Dr. Harvey Cushings.At Yale, Holly was also involved in the acquisition, management and assessment of electronic resources. Additionally she was tasked with trouble shooting e-resources and negotiating licenses for new and renewing products.
