Charge

The Budget Committee is an advisory group that monitors the spending of the library's materials budget. It makes sure the library's accounting (through Alma) stays in sync with the University budget system and processes, negotiates the items that the materials budget pays versus the general library fund, watches trends within the spending on Alma, and advises collection development on the need to increase or decrease the rate of spending. At the beginning of the fiscal year, the committee advises the Associate Vice Provost for Collections & Scholarly Communications about the purchasing patterns of each fund, to help inform her allocation-setting process. The committee also prepares periodic budget reports for the Libraries.
