Erica Honson
Erica coordinates programming and facilitates letterpress printing at Common Press, in partnership with Penn Libraries, the Weitzman School of Design, and Kelly Writers House. They also foster collaborations on campus, in Philadelphia, and throughout the broader communities of book artists and letterpress printers.
Erica is a book artist, printmaker, and papermaker in Philadelphia, PA. They are the collaborative offset lithographer at the Borowsky Center for Publication Arts, and teach printmaking and letterpress at the University of the Arts. They have taught workshops at the Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts, Tyler School of Art at Temple University, the University of Pennsylvania's Common Press, and the Soapbox Community Printshop and Zine Library.
They discovered their love of letterpress and interest in historical methods of making things by hand while studying at the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth, where they received a BFA in Graphic Design. They also hold an MFA in Book Arts and Printmaking from the University of the Arts in Philadelphia, PA.
