Mayelin is liaison and bibliographer for the Department of English, and the Theatre Arts and Comparative Literature Programs, and is responsible for supporting research in these areas. She is also responsible for developing collections for all literatures in English.

Prior to this role, Mayelin was Graduate Dissertation Fellow at Penn Libraries’ Kislak Center for Special Collections, and previously worked as Project Manager for the Early Novels Database project at Penn.

Mayelin holds a BA in English and History from the City College of New York-CUNY (where she was a Mellon-Mays Undergraduate Fellow) and an MA in English Literature from Penn. She will complete her PhD in English, also from Penn, in 2020. Her specialization is British literature and culture of the Long Eighteenth Century, and her research interests include material culture, textual representations of architecture, horror films, and the Gothic.
