The room has a maximum capacity limit that must be adhered to.

To help us improve our community, please remember the following before leaving the room:

  • Power down the projection system using the touchscreen panel.
  • Turn off all the lights.
  • Please ensure you take all your belongings with you before leaving the room.
  • Erase the whiteboards and arrange the chairs and desks to their original order.

If you encounter any issues during your class, please report them to libhelpdesk@pobox.upenn.edu, including as much detail as possible.

Booking Process

Note: To book the Collaborative Classroom for a full term, you must submit a SAIL Classroom request form. Learn more about SAIL classrooms.

  • Although we try to accommodate as many semester-long classes using special collections as we can, classrooms are not always available for every request. We typically process semester-long bookings on a first-come, first-served basis. If a potential time conflict arises, our team will send an email to notify you and assist in adjusting the time slots or selecting a different classroom.
  • Check availability: Before making a semester-long booking, check the Van Pelt-Dietrich Library Center calendar to ensure that the library is open.
  • Fill out the reservation form: To be considered for the fall semester, complete the WIC Classroom Recurring Booking Form before April 15.
  • Use your Penn email to reserve a room. Otherwise, your application may not be approved. If you are a Penn alum or a guest speaker seeking an exception, please email wic1@pobox.upenn.edu.
  • Mandatory registration and check-in are REQUIRED for all classroom bookings. Bookings are confirmed via email. Please review your booking details and confirm your reservation.
  • If you require bookings for multiple sections, please submit separate applications for each teaching section, covering the entire time range needed. (Note: For classes with multiple sections, if your chosen date is unavailable, we can help you find an alternative room option.)
  • Classroom booking submissions undergo daily review, and you will receive status notifications by the following week. If you encounter any potential issues or need assistance, email wic1@pobox.upenn.edu.
