World, Folk and Ethnic Music

By providing access through acquisition or subscription to sound recordings from producers such as Smithsonian Folkways, ARC Music Productions, and Buda Musique, thousands of sound recordings featuring world, folk and ethnic music are available through the Penn Libraries.  Coverage includes music performed and produced around the world, global music performed in the United States, and music that is emblematic of American underrepresented groups.

CDs are available for check out at the Ormandy Music Center or can be requested from LIBRA (via Request function in Franklin).  Streaming audio files can be found by searching in our catalog but also through Alexander Street Press (Smithsonian Global) or other media databases.
